I've been reading a great deal this summer and have discovered James Patterson's novels...don't know why I never read him before. The action covers the globe, and there is always a twist in the story. Two favorites: Kill Me if you Can, The Postcard Killers. Another favorite is The History of Knowledge, an overview of the prominent ideas throughout history and a terrific "summary" of world history. On my list: reading through C.S. Lewis, Paul Johnson's books on Napoleon, Paul, and Churchill, and the Great Books list including Freud's response to Einstein on war. Good reading....
